Hello and welcome to my blog,
I am Indigo Storm, Where to start? Where to start? I am completely new to this whole blogging universe, I guess I should start at introducing who I am…..
I am a New Zealander, or as we call ourselves….. a Kiwi. No not after a fruit! After our National protected bird: Kiwi (a flightless nocturnal bird with a long beak). New Zealand/ Aotearoa (land of the long white cloud), is a beautiful country! A land of mountains, springs, lakes, rivers, streams, beaches, thermal pools, forests, all virtually our tiny little backyard. It doesn’t take long at all to venture to any of these beautiful nature rich places.
We have no snakes…… no crocodiles……no alligators (same thing?)…….no scorpions…. no horrendously huge and nasty spiders……no flying cockroaches……no real scream or squirm causing creatures. I love New Zealand!!!
I have a daughter who is 6 years old, lets call her Magenta Storm, she will be my greatest little travel companion in this venture of exploring my own country and countries of the world 🙂 And then there is my carpenter partner, Aqua Storm.
I must also add, that I have little traveling experience. I have never been on a plane and I have never left the country. In fact New Zealand is made up of 3 islands and I haven’t even left the Island I was born and raised in!!!
I have always been somewhat of an explorer, true to my Aquarian star sign, a love of life and a love for people. A love of learning and a love for sharing. I have spent my life helping and inspiring others and the community around me. I have never been materialistic, I do not follow trends or aspire to uphold a certain status in life. I live simply and happily. I live in gratitude.
As I said I am a people person, I love meeting new people and learning new cultures. There came a time in my life where I welcomed the advancement of social media into my life and saw the paths of other peoples lives unravel before my eyes on the screen. So many people I went to school with had traveled the world, some even loving their experience so much, that they never looked back, and stayed there.
I stopped to think, as successful as I am, I have never felt that awe or freedom or discovery, or life! And I had an overwhelming feeling of guilt and regret, that I deprived my potential and younger self of feeling that. That I decided to work and work and work and give to everyone everywhere, depriving myself and my family of feeling limitless, powerful and free, losing that sense of innocent magic and hope. I decided to make a change…….And I have decided to share the world with others, to inspire them, to show them that ANYTHING is possible……
I will be posting journeys, holidays, and trips we make as a family, from a family perspective. I will give in depth videos and share mass photos and information of our holidays and excursions, sharing important links to help you book and contact your own holiday destination.
I am somewhat of a rainbow haha, a mixture of colors, bright and bubbly, childish, mature, intelligent, caring, kind, kooky, extrovert with introvert tendencies, cultural, fun, quiet, loud. I am neither one or the other, I am both at extremities haha.
I love cultural architecture and design of all cultures and all times. I have met many different people, eaten with many cultures, I thought that was a great way to learn, but now I want to feel, I want to see, I want smell, I want to taste and I want to explore these cultures in the land that they originate from…….I want to live it…….
So please follow me and spread the word so I can share and inspire the rest of the world. If a small town mother from a small secluded country, can do this with her child and partner, then so can anyone, anywhere!!!
